The palm tree has long been a charmingly retro, vaguely glamorous symbol of Southern California, adorning the Beverly Hills sign and In-n-Out takeout bags. Lately, the popularity of the Coachella Festival has has lent a new, slick persona to this west-coast icon; the image that emerges this season on everything from graphic tees to clutches is super-graphic, often in stark black-and-white contrast. My favorite are the little palm studs- a subtle reminder of my hometown (I am a So-Cal girl, after all)

We all know that heels make us look more attractive (as explained by this article from the Huffington Post). We also know that they can be hazardous to your health, or at least, your comfort. I spend 10+ hours each day on my feet, and have trouble tolerating a high heel for more than an hour or two. So I'm delighted that the block mid-heel sandal is everywhere this season. You're still getting some of the benefits of a heel (like longer looking legs and a sexier gait), but at a manageable height and comfort. Click thru the slideshow for my favs of the season.
